Several of the whiskies are from distilleries that are either mothballed or demolished.
The Private Collection The Private Collection
A range of special whiskies individually selected by the Directors for their unique character and quality. Each bottle of single cask whisky carries a label showing the cask number; year of distillation; year of bottling; the bottle number; the type of finish; the distillery and is signed by Ian Urquart, Director.
The bottles are presented in a cardboard tube carrying the same label as the bottle.

A range of single malt whiskies selected and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. This range contains many rare whiskies from distilleries that are no longer in production. Many of these whiskies, which are on a strict allocation from the suppliers, are offered on a first come basis.

MacPhail's Single Malt Whisky is distilled to Gordon & MacPhails order and then matured in their own casks either at the place of birth or at their warehouse in Elgin. The birthplace is a closely guarder secret giving thsi fine malt an air of mystery.
It is full bodied, finely balanced, complex and graceful, mellowed by age and enobled by pedigree
Cask Strength Collection Cask Strength Collection
Malt whiskies come from the still in excess of 60% alcohol by volume (ABV). During maturation there is loss through evaporation. Since the alcohol is more volatile than water, there is a greater loss of alcohol and the ABV reduces accordingly. This loss is known as the "Angels'Share". In normal bottling the ABV is further reduced by dilution with water, but "Cask Strength Whiskies" are bottled at the ABV obtained in the cask.
