These premium Octave whiskies have been held in sherry casks to intensify their flavours and add a new dimension to their flavour profiles, bringing out the very best in each rare dram.
Octave casks are approximately 1/8th the size of a butt and each one creates around 80 to 100 bottles.
These rare and exceptional whiskies are presented in luxury packaging befitting their provenance and are limited in numbers.
Distilled in 1988, aged 31 years in oak casks and bottled in 2019 at 49.0% vol. this is one of 58 bottles.
Tasting Notes
Nose - Initially sweet, dark chocolate notes with hints of lime emerging. A touch of fresh creamy mint.
Palate - Tropical fruit burst and ginger spices giving way to a touch of salt and lemongrass. Great balance of sweet fruits and spiced oak.
Finish - Initial hint of rich sweet oak sprinkled with dark chocolate.
