Selected, matured and bottled by Douglas Laing for their Provenance series of single cask whiskies.
Distilled in September 2004, matured in a refill hogshead and bottled with no added colour and un-chill filtered in February 2017 at 46% alc/vol.
One of 350 bottles.
Notes from the bottle:
Nose: A leather sweetness builds to damp Autumn leaves, rock pools and smoked bacon.
Palate: Sweet and gently spiced, developing to bonfire smoke and a medicinal character.
Finish: Long and luscious. Peated malt, earthy and smoke, and cereal sweetness.
